The Minister of Jihad-Agriculture: Chahbahar is the missing paradise of Iran/ Pineapple production inside the country is the key to economic prosperity

The Minister of Jihad-Agriculture has said: Due to climatic conditions and four distinct seasons and unique weather conditions, Chabahar is a lost paradise of Iran.

 According to the information center of the Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture, quoted by Public Relations of Jihad-Agriculture Organization of Sistan and Baluchestan, Mahmoud Hajjati, during a visit to a research greenhouse of breeding seedlings of pineapple in Chahbahar told: The high temperature of weather, as well as the presence of strong sunlight in the city of Chabahar, provide the best conditions for the development and production of tropical plants there.

 The Minister of Jihad-Agriculture, by stating that imports of pineapple seedlings started from two years ago, and after quarantine processes and making extensive research and studies by domestic researchers, added: Pineapple seedlings are multiplying in many ways, and the major part of its planting is under development, with the aim of not having import problems and quarantine. Hojjati has also mentioned that: currently, pineapple fruit is imported from abroad, but due to the compatibility of this plant with dehydration and climatic conditions of the area, it has considerable potential of development in that area, even in the garden, also production of pineapple in the country, taking into account its high price, will be a good income and will be the basis of economic prosperity and production in Iran.

 This project is being implemented with the support of the Gardening and Horticulture Research Institutes of the Jihad-Agriculture Organization of Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
